POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the direction of the Director, the Coordinating Supervisor of Professional Learning and Leadership is responsible for providing assistance to the Director: (a) the administration, supervision, and coordination of the services in all of the offices in the department in the mission of providing induction support, professional learning, development of leadership programs for all bargaining units and executive level leadership. The incumbent will collaborate across internal divisions and foster university partnerships.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Collaborates with directors, supervisors and specialists on professional learning needs;

Seeks grant opportunities that will further support and enhance internal job embedded

Represents the department at meetings, including Board of Education meetings, and conferences to give and receive information;

Serves as panelist, presenter, and facilitator at leadership conferences and professional development/learning opportunities for all school system personnel;

Writes and disseminates communication documents including newsletters, brochures, compilation reports, internal and external memoranda, surveys, profiles, evaluations and concept papers;

Prepares data reports to determine the effectiveness of partnerships and professional learning programs;

Assists the Director in the selection/recruitment, supervision and evaluation of assigned personnel;

Evaluates assigned personnel in alignment with articulated Board of Education personnel guidelines and procedures;

Serves in the absence of the Director when requested, communicating department directives and serving as a liaison to the school system and other agency personnel; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Demonstrated leadership in guiding diverse groups of people through professional learning;

Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make data driven decisions; analytical skills to monitor progress of an undertaking and identify areas needing adjustment or improvement;

Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Strong attention to detail in the evaluation and completion of various tasks;

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc), Google applications, eDoctrina professional learning and evaluation platform, and Canvas software;

Ability to clearly communicate requirements and expectations to a wide range of individuals;

Ability to manage multiple tasks at once adhering to the guidelines, deadlines and budgets;

Ability to function independently and work within a team;

Ability to maintain confidentiality;

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders;

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;

Ability to innovate and create new and untapped strategies and ideas; and

Ability to create a vision or mission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in educational administration, leadership and/or supervision required.  A minimum of five (5) years of previous successful supervisory experience required.  Must have experience evaluating personnel.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate with Administrator I endorsement required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Oversees and provides guidance and direction to assigned personnel.
