     Procedure for Requesting Teacher Recommendations, Forms to be Completed by MLK Staff, and/or Student Transcripts:  All forms are to be submitted to the Guidance Secretary in the guidance office.  Parents must provide a release of records signed by a parent/guardian before any information will be sent to a school or other facility.  Once the Guidance Secretary has the signed released form, she will forward the recommendation form to the requested teachers.   The completed teacher recommendations will be returned to the Guidance Secretary and she will mail the forms and transcripts to the requesting school.  She will save a copy of the packet sent, including the recommendations, in case there is a delay in delivery.  Please allow 10 days for teachers to complete forms.  If you receive an electronic request for teachers to complete, please forward the request to the Guidance Secretary.  MLK will submit all transcripts and recommendations to the requesting school/facility.   If you have any questions, please call the Guidance Secretary at 240.297.6117Thank you for following these guidelines.

    The School MAX Parent Portal Parents can access current and important information regarding student attendance, assignments and grades, and disciplinary actions. The Parent Portal allows for increased parental support and involvement in the academic progress of our students.  
    If you have concerns regarding the information you view in School MAX please contact your student's Guidance Counselor. If you have questions or problems setting up your account, please contact our Guidance Secretary, 240-297-6117.

    Contact your child’s teacher by using one of these ways: Please allow 48 hours for teachers to make return phone calls, emails, or notes          

    1. By phone: 301-572-0650; If the teacher is not available at the time of the call then a message can be left.
    2. By email: Look for teacher's email name on our Staff Page 
    3. By agenda book: A quick note can let a teacher know any  questions or concerns.           

    Anyone who requires an auxiliary aide/service for effective communication, or the modification of a procedure/policy in order to participate in a school system sponsored program/service/activity should contact the school principal, individual or organization hosting the event, or the PGCPS ADA Compliance Officer, Ms. Elizabeth Davis, at 301-952-6793.  Requests should be made as soon as possible, but not later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
