Graduations will occur on a rolling basis with morning and afternoon breaks for principals and school staff. Students will line up maintaining social distance and will position themselves according to tape designations; 15 students will be allowed in at a time. Students will remain in designated locations until the student ahead of them moves forward (a video of student order/procedures will be provided).

Procedure:

Each student will proceed into the auditorium, walk on stage once their name has been called, and turn their tassel. Next, they will pick up the diploma from the designated table (diplomas will be inside and students’ names will be labeled outside of the cover). They will then exit from the stage and building. As students are exiting, so will their parents/guests. No student and family will be permitted to linger in the auditorium for photos.

Parents and guests will be allowed in the auditorium when their child’s group is called (15 at a time). They will stand on spots marked on the ground, per social distancing guidelines. There will be no more than 30 parents or guests (2 per student) at a time to hear the graduate’s name called and take photos. They will exit once the graduate is done. Parents will enter and exit through a separate entrance, to be identified at each school, when possible.

Students must RSVP to confirm their participation and their guests’ names. Graduates will be called in alphabetical order and designated reporting times will be provided to students.

Non-graduates will not participate in this event.
Graduates not participating will pick up diplomas on the following day.
Guests must have a ticket for entry.
All guests must wear a mask and temperatures will be taken upon entry.
Notification to students will be made using PGCPS and school communication channels, such as Blackboard, email and social media.
All graduates must be dressed in the assigned cap/gown for their school.
Seats will be blocked for social distancing purposes. Individuals from the same household will be requested to sit together in order to maximize space.
Diplomas will be available for students to pick up on the stage. Students may stop for a photo.
Addresses from the valedictorian, salutatorian and class president will be pre-recorded and posted on the school webpages the week before the diploma ceremonies.
