POSITION SUMMARY:Under direction of the Director of Family and Community Partnerships, the Supervisor of Community Partnerships manages a districtwide program designed to develop business and community relationships to increase organizational capacity, volunteerism and mentoring opportunities to enhance student learning and academic achievement. The incumbent will seek out and develop relationships in the educational, business and non-profit communities to increase partnership capacity and support the recruitment and engagement of such stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Implements
strategic engagement of stakeholders aligned to the Prince George’s County
Public Schools (PGCPS) strategic plan outcomes and Board of Education policies; Maintains communication networks with school personnel,
business, government and non-profit community and parent leaders; Evaluates strategies and channels to improve and enhance
communications with internal and external stakeholders; Manages ongoing relationships with existing partners to
ensure those relationships to provide the greatest collective impact; Provides training and technical assistance to school-based
volunteer coordinators; Prepares reports and collects, disaggregates and interprets
data to enhance changes in practice; Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to department
personnel to achieve maximum effectiveness; Facilitates planning, consultation, and provides tools to
increase schools’ partnership capacity; Facilitates and/or attend meetings with community and strategic partners and stakeholders; Promotes community, family, partnership and school
involvement with particular emphasis on constituencies who have been
traditionally underrepresented; Prepares
related documents and presentations for PGCPS employees and strategic partners;
and Performs
other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge
of partnership and engagement models that support student learning and academic
achievement; Ability
to assess program needs; Ability
to organize and work with volunteers to be successful and effective partners; Demonstrated leadership and broad experience working
effectively with diverse staff, community and other stakeholders; Demonstrated experience in directing, supervising, and
evaluating staff; Excellent management, planning, organization, written
communications, and human relation skills required; Ability to build collegial relationships and collaborate with
staff at all levels; Flexibility
and ability to adapt to evolving job roles and diversity of projects; Highly
self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail; Proficiency
with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications; and Superior written and oral communication skills and ability to intuitively
present and document ideas and concepts to staff, management and stakeholders
at all levels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, business administration or related field required. A minimum of five (5) years of partnership building experience in school districts, government or similar organization required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees and provides guidance and direction to assigned personnel.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Work schedules may include evenings and weekends. Incumbent may be required to work beyond normal hours with little or no advanced notice. Drivers’ License is required, inasmuch as there will be a need to travel to sites throughout the school district.
