POSITION SUMMARY: The Instructional Technology Supervisor will organize, develop, monitor, and support the Technology Training Team members’ activities involving system-wide and school-based training activities designed to support administrators and instructional staff in the use of information systems and instructional technology tools. The Instructional Technology Supervisor will assist in evaluating staff performance, serve as the Director’s backup on administrative functions, monitor day to day activities, coverage, and training assignments. This position is responsible for overseeing technology integration training sessions, coordinating and supporting the activities of the Technology Training and Support office. The incumbent will assist with identifying, implementing, and maintaining best practices in the field of instructional technology as well as assist in the implementation of the system and state technology plans.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates and
supervises the operation and workflow of all services provided in the Office of
Technology Training & Support; Writes and
disseminates communication documents including newsletters, brochures,
compilation reports, internal and external memoranda, surveys, profiles, and
evaluations; Evaluates assigned
personnel in alignment with articulated Board of Education personnel guidelines
and procedures; Evaluate the design
and delivery of research-based instructional technology practices for
instruction at all levels; Serve as Back-up
Payroll Approver; Conduct assessment,
data collection, and analysis of formal and informal data for use in targeting
and monitoring the effectiveness of training programs; Research ways to
improve data and performance monitoring of trainings and use of technology
tools; Assist in the
development and implementation of PGCPS Technology Plan; Supervise staff
development activities in the areas of technology integration; Collaborate with
other departments implementing programs and projects; Develop, oversee, and
follow professional development plans and actively seek out opportunities to
grow professionally; Prepare and submit
accurate reports as required; Assists the Director
in the interviewing and hiring of department personnel; Serves in the absence
of the Director, communicating department directives; Represents the
department with or in place of the Director at meetings, and conferences to
give and receive information; serves as panelist, presenter and facilitator at
leadership conferences for principals and school staffs statewide; Collaborates with
department supervisors on the implementation of technology training plans and
documentation; Support the
activities of the Division of Information Technology and Academics to ensure
complimentary services as instructional technology is used to increase student
achievement; Coordinate services
which are aligned to the requirements of both school and offices; Assist in
establishing and assessing annual goals of the office; and Perform related work
as required.
QUALIFICATIONS Excellent
Teambuilding Skills; Recent (within last 6
months) work experience in the area of Instructional Technology; Demonstrate ability
to collaborate with diverse groups, e.g., administrators, staff, teachers; Demonstrate ability
in the use and implementation of new and emerging technologies; Demonstrated skill in
effective human relations and in oral and written communications; Strong customer
service, interpersonal, organizational, management, and teambuilding skills; Understanding of
technical requirements to implement and support learning technologies; Knowledge of state
standards, benchmarks, and alternative modes of assessment; Knowledge and
understanding of the teaching and learning process; Ability to provide
instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education;
and Experience in leading
staff development initiatives.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Educational Policy and a minimum of five (5) years of successful management experience required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees and supervises staff of an assigned office within the department.
