• On Wednesday, March 25, State Superintendent of Education Dr. Karen Salmon announced that all Maryland public schools will remain closed through Friday, April 24.
    Picking up meals, digital devices and instructional materials for distance learning is permitted under Gov. Hogan's stay-at-home order (Sect IIb(iv)).

Scholar of the Week: International High School at Langley Park Student Kilmar Marcia Guzman

International High School at Langley Park senior Kilmar Marcia Guzman holds a 3.76 GPA and has received more than $480,000 in scholarships. Kilmar is an English-proficient student and takes Advanced Placement courses in English Language, World History and Spanish. 

The Posse Scholar semifinalist is the Captain of Peer Forward and member of the National Honor Society, soccer and tennis teams. 


Kilmar has been accepted to Goucher College, McDaniel College, Marymount University, Mount St. Mary’s University and Loyola University. He plans to major in history because he has a deep interest in how past events can help others to solve issues or problems happening now. 


In his spare time, he enjoys tutoring, volunteering and listening to music.
