POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the supervision of the Communications Officer, the incumbent of this position will manage Television Resources and oversee digital engagement efforts. Work includes executing communications strategies with an emphasis on digital media platforms and supervising the video production of instructional, professional development and public relations programs in collaboration with Web Services. Work is reviewed in terms of accomplishment of objectives.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Manages work assignments in line with strategic communications plan and digital strategy;

Manages end-to-end digital projects;

Manages special projects and assist Executive Director as needed;

Executes creative social media campaigns in support of brand and marketing strategy;

Draft, writes and edits the content used for digital media platforms as needed;

Supervises office staff by providing directions, guidelines, assigning work appropriately and tracking attendance;

Works closely with television technical staff;

Trains teachers in instructional television programming; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Successful work experience in photo and video editing software, social media tools, and web content management and design resources;

Skill in respectful and sensitive communication with people at all levels within an organization who are diverse in their cultures, language groups and abilities;

Strong working knowledge of web platforms, HTML, social media tools and other web-related skills;

Ability to produce television shows, instructional videos, Web series and digital short videos/films;

Ability to write and revise scripts;

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly concisely and with technical accuracy;

Ability to use online tools to evaluate the effectiveness of programming, social media and other communications efforts;

Ability to multi-task and work in a team setting;

Demonstrated experience communicating with a diverse workforce, all levels of management, and the public;

Excellent organizational and time management skills; and

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) from an accredited college or university in Communications, Radio/TV and Film, Journalism, or a related field; ten (10) years related experience; any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Oversees and provides guidance to the department staff.
