POSITION SUMMARY:


The D/P Schedule Audit Controller schedules all computer processing and maintains control information necessary for proper execution of work; monitors work for correctness; performs recovery/restart procedures when necessary; and interfaces with user departments and system developers to establish schedules and delivery times; does related work as required.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Schedules for routine daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual processing with the aid of an automated scheduling system;

Builds the daily schedule of events to be performed by the computer operators and adjusts, as necessary, due to special requests, system testing or changes in requirements;

Maintains the Job Control Library for all production events, and insures that each job scheduled to run is properly set up, input data is ready, and control information has been updated;

Reviews and evaluates the previous days work to determine its completeness and if a problem occurred, coordinates with the Help Desk the necessary steps needed to correct the problem;

Works with the User Departments and Programmer/ Analysts in determining the production deadlines and makes necessary changes to the Automated Scheduler to insure these deadlines are met;

Works with the Program/Analysts when new programs and/or systems are being placed into production to insure the Job Control Library, Documentation Library, and the schedule are properly implemented; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Good knowledge of computer hardware and software, and operational procedures;

Effective planning and administrative skills;

Ability to train personnel in standard methods of computer operations and procedures; and

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials and computer users.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Extensive experience in the principles, applications and techniques of electronic data processing and completion of a technical training course; or, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
