POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the direction of the Director or his/her designee, the Data Integration/Statistical Analyst designs, maintains, and creates datasets/databases for the collection, analysis and dissemination of student/instructional data to principals, teachers, parents and school system leadership team. The Data Integration/Statistical Analyst enters data into and extracts data from databases and prepares reports for use by administrators. The Data Integration/Statistical Analyst develops forms, letters, surveys and notices to gather data as requested by supervisor.  The incumbent uses software, such as SPSS and Microsoft Office applications to analyze data and to develop spreadsheets, reports and presentations that provide formative and summative data useful in evaluating and improving program effectiveness and student placement.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Inputs, downloads, organizes, and analyzes student data from the Student Information Management System. Create and maintain datasets of students’ enrollment, participation in various instructional programs, and achievement;

Enter data form survey questionnaires, interviews, and observation protocols; Develops and prints reports on student data;

Presents information to staff;

Designs and conducts presentations of data and associated data analysis to school, school system and community groups. Provides training to administration, staff, students, and community;

Participates in training to remain current on data sources, data analysis techniques and strategies for developing and conducting presentations;

Serves on/interacts with school leadership teams to promote the continuous improvement of data gathering processes; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Working knowledge of desktop computers and statistical analytical and common office software such as SPSS, ACCESS database, word processing, spreadsheet and PowerPoint;

Experience using word processing, presentation software and spreadsheets to generate reports and to make presentations;

Familiarity with AS400 or similar student information systems;

General knowledge of public school administrative structure;

Knowledge of data analysis techniques and strategies sufficient for analyzing student data;

Some knowledge of common office equipment;

Is organized, competent, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced work environment and under tight deadlines; and

Commitment to knowledge of job, professionalism, interpersonal, communication and organization skills, and problem solving competencies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Management System, or related field with a minimum of three (3) years satisfactory experience with database/dataset creation and management, college-level coursework in data analysis and/or descriptive statistics; other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience, which provides the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position, may be considered.
