POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the direction of the Supervisor of Print and Mail Production, the Copier Specialist will conduct the day to day operations of the system wide copier program, approve deliverables, catalog all devices, create a data base of all printing devices, monitor usage, and recommend device types and locations.  

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Develops and approves the overall copier deployment schedule for 200+ schools and administrative offices within PGCPS;

Ensures that PGCPS deliverables are met on time and on budget;

Meets regularly with key stakeholders and critical site support personnel to ensure that the transition to replacement copier and servers is well coordinated;

Identifies project implementation risk and reports risks to Supervisor of Print and Mail Production;

Identifies and trouble-shoots key site issues and plans corrective action;

Conducts weekly implementation status report meetings;

Leads the project milestone review sessions and key technical/implementation readiness reviews with the Supervisor of Print and Mail Production;

Reviews and issues site reports;

Coordinates/monitors calls to IT help desk on copier issues;

Collaborates with technology coordinators and conducts training sessions when scheduled;

Reviews reports to determine training needs;

Approves implementation work plans using Microsoft Project;

Conducts on-site inspections both prior to and after delivery and installation of copiers;

Reports site inspection findings to Supervisor of Print and Mail Production;

Plans corrective actions for any deployment issues that may arise;

Maintains a list of and assigns fax numbers throughout the school system;

Oversees and provides guidance to contractors and vendor technicians;

Understands and assists in the management of the project budget; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Extensive knowledge and understanding of copiers from desktop to production models required;

Work assignments are carried out independently in accordance with established procedures, and methods;

Experience in statistical analysis required;

Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities;

Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment;

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential to this position;

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;

Experience coordinating and managing across cross functional operations;

Experience developing project proposals, including cost benefit analysis and vendor selection process;

Experience using Oracle E-Business Suite;

Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail;

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure; and

Experience in managing/production coordination of copy or print center operation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience required. A minimum of four (4) years of progressively challenging experience in project management positions.

 

 



CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Project Management Institute (PMI) professional certification preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


No direct supervisory responsibilities.
