POSITION SUMMARY:


  Under the direction of the Director, the Coordinating Supervisor is responsible for providing assistance to the Director:  (a) the administration, supervision, and coordination of the services in all the offices in the department in the mission of guiding, assisting and supporting all students in academic proficiency, personal and interpersonal school adjustment, and career development and (b) effective home, and community communication and utilization of resources.    

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 Collaborating with Principals and Supervisors/Specialists on professional development needs;

Facilitating with staff to secure grants that will benefit the initiatives and programs offered by the department;

Attending Board of Education meetings as requested to respond to programmatic inquiries;

Representing the department at meetings and conferences as requested to give and receive information;

Serving as panelist, presenter, and facilitator at leadership conferences for principals and school staffs statewide;

Writing and disseminating communication documents including newsletters, brochures, compilation reports, internal and external memoranda, surveys, profiles, evaluations, and concept papers;

Maintaining strict fiscal accountability through the review of financial documents and iProcurement requests for supervisors, and approving payroll;

Preparing reports required and responding when requested to informational requests by other school system offices and outside organizations;

Evaluating assigned personnel in alignment with articulated Board of Education personnel guidelines and procedures;

Assisting the Director in the interviewing and hiring of staff; and

Serving in the absence of the Director when requested, communicating department directives and serving as a liaison to the school system and other agency personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Knowledge and skill in the professional roles, functions, and disciplines within a school/department;

Demonstrated leadership in guiding diverse groups of people through problem-solving;

Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions; and

Excellent written and oral communications skills.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


 

Master's degree from an accredited institution in Educational Administration required; with two to three years in a supervisory position, and five years of successful teaching experience.

 

 



CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


 

Holds an Advanced Professional Certificate; Holds Administrator I Certification.

 

 



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


 

Oversees and provides guidance and direction to the unit staff.
