POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent for Area 3 - High Schools, the Coordinating Supervisor - Online Campus will be responsible for providing assistance to the Associate Superintendent with the administration, supervision, and coordination of the Online Campus as well as other online learning programs, such as credit recovery, evening virtual school, and Maryland Virtual Learning Opportunities. This will includethe mission of guiding, assisting and supporting teachers with successful synchronous and asynchronous instruction of students in a virtual learning environment. The incumbent will also be responsible for the supervision and evaluation of Online Campus classroom teachers and staff. The Coordinating Supervisor will work on special projects as assigned by the Associate Superintendent.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 Collaborates with Division of Information Technology and the Division of Academics stakeholders on professional development needs;

Attends Board of Education meetings as requested to respond to programmatic inquiries as related to the Online Campus;

Represents the Online Campus, at meetings and conferences as requested to give and receive information along with establishing collaborative relationships with other offices and agencies in Prince George's County Public Schools and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) that support the mission of the department;

Writes and disseminates communication documents including newsletters, brochures, compilation reports, internal and external memoranda, surveys, profiles, evaluations, and concept papers;

Maintains strict fiscal accountability through the review of financial documents and iProcurement requests for supervisors, and approves payroll;

Observes teachers and other staff using the formal observation process, and provides feedback;

Participates in the selection and evaluation process for department staff; provides the necessary administrative and supervisory functions for appropriate leadership of the department staff;

Collects and utilizes data to inform departmental decisions and monitors plans for interventions and adjustments;

Manages project and prepares reports required by the Associate Superintendent, when requested, to informational requests by other school system offices and outside organizations;

Serves in the absence of the Associate Superintendent when requested, communicating department directives and serving as a liaison to the school system and other agency personnel; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 Experience as a specialist, supervisor, curriculum coordinator, and/or principal;

Experience providing leadership in designing, planning, and implementing blended learning instructional programs and/or systemic initiatives;

Extensive knowledge of digital learning platforms and tools, preferably Edgenuity and/or Canvas;

Extensive knowledge of learner-centered instructional strategies and current practices that leverage technology for learner collaboration, discipline-specific technologies, tools, and resources;

Experience in writing and managing grants;

Thorough knowledge of the instructional programs in PGCPS;

Knowledge of employee evaluation requirements;

Knowledge of innovative and creative teaching with demonstrated ability to conceptualize ideas; lead and evaluate large projects;

Excellent interpersonal skills built on communication and collaboration; and

Possess excellent writing, project management, computer and technology skills necessary for producing comprehensive reports and making presentations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


 Master’s degree from an accredited college or institution in curriculum and/or administration or other relevant field required. A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory position, and five (5) years of successful teaching experience within a secondary school classroom preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of successful blended learning instructional leadership experience preferred. Completion of the “Online Teaching in Maryland” course and the “MSDE Online Course Shadow Experience” is preferred. 



CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Advanced Professional Certificate with Administrator II endorsement required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Supervises assigned teachers and staff.
