POSITION SUMMARY:


The Business Systems Analyst will report to the Director of the Monitoring and Accountability Office, and will perform various types of analysis and provide support for large district projects, as assigned. The position will focus on conducting Business Process Re-engineering of end-to-end business processes performed by administrative and instructional staff.   

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Facilitate Business Process Review meetings with cross-functional process areas to capture business practices;

Analyze current business processes, and apply industry best practices in process improvement to recommend process modifications for greater efficiencies and cost savings;

Document workflows and standard operating procedures;

Assist in metrics identification and definition;

Gather stakeholder requirements for new products and manage those requirements through the life of the product;

Develop requirements documentation, including functional use cases;

Verify the requirements with stakeholders;

Develop workflow diagrams and process documentation using object-oriented design and analysis methods;

Develop test cases from requirements use cases;

Conduct testing of application functionality (using scripted test cases and other means) to validate the system meets all requirements;

Analyze training requirements for new applications, and develop training strategies and plans;

Support end users during and after implementation to influence positive product adoption and reduce ramp-up period for new implementations;

Participate in tasks to prepare the school district's environment for the implementation of new applications including product selection, planning, training, various analysis tasks, communicating with all stakeholders;

Maintain minutes and notes of project meetings and archive them in the project repository; and

Other tasks as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Ability to facilitate meeting for the purpose of gathering requirements, business processes, and other pertinent data;

Knowledge of various methodologies for analyzing and documenting requirements and business processes;

Effective time management, documentation and organizational skills;

Good understanding and knowledge of implementation methodology or integration methodology;

Strong leadership skills;

Experience dealing with third party vendors;

Excellent written oral and interpersonal communication skills;

Ability to present ideas in business friendly or user friendly language;

Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail;

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure;

Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;

Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Visio Professional; and

Experience in @TASK project management software preferred.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


 

Bachelor's Degree or higher with 4+ years business systems analysis experience; proven knowledge of foundational business systems analysis best practices as evidenced by a Business Systems Analysis certificate or equivalent practical experience.
