TAG Program Models

TAG IN REGULAR CLASSROOMS (TRC) – The TAG in the Regular Classroom (TRC) Program provides TAG identified students in the attendance area school with differentiated instructional services. Students are cluster grouped with at least 6 TAG identified students, or like learners when possible, in the same classroom. Included among these differentiation strategies are accelerated and flexible pacing, pre-assessment, curriculum compacting, exploring topics in depth, enriched and accelerated learning experiences and advanced opportunities for critical and higher level thinking.

TAG PULL-OUT- The TAG Pull-out Program provides TAG identified students in the attendance area school an enrichment program specifically developed for gifted learners.
The updated TAG Pull-out content has been revised and will be implemented during the 2016-2017 school year. These groups meet during the school day from October through June.  Grades 2 and 3 meet 1.5 hours per week. Grades 4 and 5 meet 2 hours a week.

In our Spanish Immersions schools, P.E. Williams, Overlook and Cesar Chavez, Grade 2 students are cluster-grouped together in one classroom and teachers are trained in Junior Great Books, best practices of gifted education including differentiation, critical thinking, and rigor.  Grades 3-5 will use the Pull-Out model until their grade level is part of the Spanish Immersion Program.
