    UPDATE:  Li competed in the International Science Fair and won first prize honors in Cell and Molecular Biology, which came with a $3,000 award and an asteroid to be named in his honor by the MIT Lincoln Library as part of their CERES Connection. He also was recognized as the Best of his Category and was awarded an additional $5,000. Li also took home the Grand Prize: the Intel Foundation Young Scientist Awards which conists of a $50,000 college scholarship.
