    Lauryn Worrent
    Laurel High School
    GPA: 3.79

    An aspiring health sciences professional, Lauryn has taken a variety of courses to prepare her for higher education, including Advanced Placement Biology, English Language, World History, French Language, Calculus, and English Literature.

    Lauryn extracurricular activities include the National and French honor societies, Green Club, African Students Association Indigenous Dance Group, and the Kohl’s Care Association. 

    Lauryn has been accepted to Loyola University, Salisbury University, Morgan State University, Virginia Union University and Gordon College. She plans to major in mass biology with hopes of becoming a diagnostic radiologist.

    She has been recognized by the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Students and honored for her leadership potential and interest in the profession of medicine.

     


    Christian Ventura
    Northwestern High School
    GPA: 4.09

    An aspiring biomedical engineer, Christian is also a dual enrollment student whose courseload has included Advanced Placement U.S. History, Spanish 5 and Calculus along with college-level statistics and psychology classes.

    Christian is a member of the varsity football, golf, swim, wrestling, and baseball teams. He has pending applications at the University of Maryland, University of Virginia, Cornell, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, Salisbury, and Duke universities.

    He hopes to design prosthetics for people with disabilities.
