    NAME:  Leah Woody


    CUMULATIVE GPA:  3.94      

     

    ACADEMICS: Leah is enrolled in the Biomedical Program. She has taken the following courses: Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology, Bioorganic Chemistry, AP Psychology, AP Government, AP Biology, AP Literature and AP World History. She is currently enrolled in AP Human Geography and AP Language and Composition.

     

    EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:  Leah is a participant in the Gear-Up Program and College Awareness through Career Exploration (CACE) sponsored by the University of Maryland. She volunteers at homeless shelters, local food drives and tennis events such as the CITI Open and Legg Mason Tennis Classic. She has played on the varsity volleyball and tennis teams and was a member of the varsity swim team. Leah has also earned 385 student service hours. 
      

    FUTURE PLANS:  Leah plans to apply to Bowdoin College, Connecticut College, Seton Hall University or St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She plans to major in history and education and pursue a minor in European Studies. 
      

    INTERESTING NOTES:  Leah interned at the U.S. Mint Headquarters in Washington, DC for the past two summers. She was one of two high school students among the college interns. She met the Deputy Director, Richard Peterson of the U.S. Mint, and Rosie Rios, Treasurer of the United States. She also took VIP tours of the Philadelphia U.S. Mint and Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
