    Academies: Amber was accepted into the Science and Technology program at Eleanor Roosevelt High School her ninth grade year. She has completed AP American Government, AP English Language, AP Chemistry,  AP Physics B and AP World and is currently enrolled in AP Calculus AB, AP Human Geography, AP Literature and Advanced Organic Chemistry.

    Extracurricular Activities: Amber has a passion for student government and has been elected Class President all four years of high school. She is also serving as SGA Secretary for the 2011-2012 school year. Amber was inducted into both National Honor Society and French Honor Society.  Amber is also a member of the Model United Nations team and an active participant in both school and community theater.

    Future Plans: Amber was accepted into Wellesley College and is excited to attend in the fall. She plans to pursue Political Science and Chemistry, with the ultimate goal of going to law school. She hopes to have a career in public service and elected office.

    Interesting Notes: Amber has interned with Congressman Alcee L. Hastings, becoming a certified Capitol tour guide and spending time learning about the House of Representatives. She is also an active participant and volunteer at her church. Amber was awarded the Harvard Book Award and the Jesse J. Warr Award in eleventh grade. Outside of school, Amber was crowned Miss Greenbelt 2009. As Miss Greenbelt, she volunteered throughout the community and was captain of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure team “Miss Greenbelt for the Cure”. She also tutors and mentors peers regularly.
