    The Ombudsman serves as an independent party that seeks to resolve school and school-system issues or concerns from students, parents, and the public. We facilitate resolutions by connecting constituents to the appropriate school-system staff to determine resolutions to concerns. 

    Anyone can contact the PGCPS Office of the Ombudsman to discuss or seek assistance in resolving a school or school-system problem, concern, or complaint by phone, in writing, or by email.

    4 Steps to Resolve a Concern

    Step 1

    Report your concern to your child's school principal or to the specific office supervisor or director.

    Step 2

    If still unresolved, contact the area office (for schools) or specific division-level supervisor (for office). 

    Step 3

    If further guidance is needed, please view the 'Guide to Addressing Questions and Concerns'

    Step 4

    If after Steps 1, 2 and 3, you still do not have a resolution, submit your request online or call 301-808-8315.
