Mr. Hall- This course explores a variety of art media with many experiences in the areas of art such as: art appreciation, constructing, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpting, crafts, careers and related activities. All art experiences are based on the elements of art (line, shape, color, form, texture, space and value) and how these elements are incorporated in works of art. This course is enriched and reinforced with thinking skills development and multicultural education art activities. All students will be expected to maintain a journal/ sketchbook.
Ms. Snell, Ms. Lambert-  AVID is a program designed to support average ability students who are in the “academic middle” but have a desire to go to college and the willingness to work to achieve. AVID focuses on accelerating a student’s performance through challenging coursework and focused support. Selected students are capable of completing a college-prep curriculum but are falling short of their potential. The core component of the program is the AVID elective course where students receive guidance and academic training to support them as they strive to achieve in the most rigorous courses. AVID’s teaching strategies, curriculum, and methodologies are used not only in the AVID elective class but in the classrooms of AVID trained, core content area teachers school-wide.
